"THE HAUNTED TRAIN"October 2015-Theatre New York City
UNMASKED commissioned an original new musical from writers Christopher Anselmo and Christian Fleming based on a nation-wide call of scripts that examined aspects of mental illness. Randy Gross' play, THE HAUNTED TRAIN was chosen to be adapted. THE HAUNTED TRAIN questions what really qualifies as "crazy" and centers dialogue on the current issue of patient rights in modern mental health practice. THE HAUNTED TRAIN premiered October 14th-18th, 2015 at Theatre for the New City (NYC).
"A warm wave of perfect harmony splashes over the audience as soon as the lights signal the start of “The Haunted Train,” a new musical that questions the treatment of mental health patients..."- Nickolaus Hines - OnStageBlog - http://www.onstageblog.com/reviews/2015/10/21/review-the-haunted-train-at-theater-for-the-new-city
Our Shows were followed by talkback forum discussions open to the audience with members of the cast and counselors from MyTherapist
This original show was created in honor of National Eating Disorder Awareness Week. We cast 10 brave actors who all struggled with body image and how to own their self-worth. Together, they developed an original musical production based on their personal stories and struggles and the experience of coming together through this intensive and deep rehearsal process. Meet our actors in the gallery to the right and follow the cathartic rehearsal process through episodes of our web-series.

"HIDE AND SEEK " MAY 2014 - THE KRAINE THEATER
Hide and Seek, Unmasked Theatre Company's first workshop dealt with issues related to mental health. Topics highlighted include depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and anxiety. The workshop was a collaborative process, with completely original material developed over months of development by the entire cast and creative team. Pieces ranged from tap and contemporary dance, rap, slam poetry, and traditional musical theatre.
After the show, the audience participated in a talkback forum discussion with Dave Cullen, bestselling author of Columbine.
"ROLE OF A LIFETIME"MARCH 2014 -THE YORK THEATER COMPANY
Unmasked Theatre Company's debut offering was a musical theatre benefit cabaret entitled Role of a Lifetime. Throughout the night, performers sang and danced to musical theatre favorites but added a twist - these were songs for roles in which they would NEVER be cast. It was a gender-bending, stereotype-shattering, and boundary-breaking night of music!
